The oceans, the 500^th anniversary of the discovery of the sea route to India and Lisbon, the capital of the Atlantic, provided the motto for three collections of stamps launched by the post office for Expo’98.

There were 30 postal shops within the Exposition precinct, and any letters sent from these shops bore their own special post code: 1998 Lisboa Expo.
