Exhibition Centre
Comprising four pavilions, the Northern International Area was the largest building at Expo’98. It housed the pavilions of Turkey, Monaco, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Spain, France, Holland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Peru, Thailand, India, China, Algeria and Morocco.
This area was designed so that after the exposition it could be converted into the Lisbon Exhibition Centre (FIL). Designed by the architects A. Barreiros Ferreira and A. França Dória, it opened its doors as the new FIL exhibition venue on 13th March 1999, hosting the Nauticampo fair.
